Where We are Now and What We Saw Last Night

We are in Garnett, Kansas right now but moving on. This is the third town we have rode through today. We hope to at least make it to a small town to camp at.

Last night we camped at a farm where we saw turkeys, chicken, deer, goats and horses. Waji was ok with the deer but a little nervous around the turkeys and chicken. Before we bunked down for the night, Waji watched the horses for hours from the comfort of my lap.

We are in Ottawa, Kansas tonight. I will be posting some pictures that were taken along our trip starting tomorrow.

Spectacular!

Last night they ended the Amelia Earhart Days with some of the best fireworks I have ever seen. Pictures will be posted at a later date.

Amelia Earhart Festival

Last night we made it to Atchison, Kansas where they are having the Amelia Earhart Festival. As we ride around on the bike, Waji is capturing everyone's attention.

Bike Tire Blow Out This Time

The front tire on the bike blew out this time as we were going downhill, so we had a spill. Waji is fine but my feet and lower legs got scraped up. A little hard to walk so not sure how riding bike will be. So we are going to go to a nearby town where someone said they were having a festival this weekend. Probably will spend a couple days there so I can recoup. At least we had a spare tire for the bike along so I do not need to go looking for one.

Weigh In

Yesterday we stopped at a weigh station and weighed the bike and trailer. They were 220 lbs.

Waji Having Fun

Waji has been able to run and have fun in the woods at the last couple of places we have been camping. Always coming back when called.

Geez!

Other tire on trailer blew out today but is now fixed. Also lost a pin for trailer so did a temporary fix since there was no part to be found in the town I'm in. Hopefully it will hold up until I get to the next big town and get it replaced with the proper part.

Taking swim

Last night I camped a couple miles west of Cameron & going for a swim before moving on.

Kindness of strangers

Just goes to show you how nice people are in this area. Not only did a guy help out a total stranger in need of help, but a guy from Winston had traveled down after seeing my post on facebook. He found me at Walmart. I can not thank these people enough.

Help has arrived!

A gentleman stopped to help me out so thanks but he will be taking me into town to try finding the tire I need that blew out on the trailer.

Need help please!

Had blow out on 69 south of Winston and north of Cameron. Could anyone find a 16 by 1.75 tire and get it to me.call me @ 218 239 0449 or if have pick up to transport me and Waji with bike and trailer to Cameron so I can find one there hopefully it would be very much appreciated.

Jessie James Days Fun

Entered a singles horseshoes tournament and took 2nd place. Now entering a doubles horseshoes tournament. So keeping myself busy while waiting for parade to begin.

Plans have changed

We will be staying in Winston, Missouri another night as we are going to join in the parade tomorrow before moving on.

Jessie James Days in Winston, Missouri

We will be spending the night in Winston, Missouri where Jessie James Days is going on. Plans to go on with trip sometime early tomorrow. Still looking for a computer that I can post some pictures. Have sold alot of the books I had on hand between the last town and here with only ten left that I can sell.

Crossed a Border

Made it into Missouri today around noon and trying to make it to Bethany where I would like to stay tonight. Sorry still no computer to download pictures will be posting when I can.

Getting closer to border of Iowa

We are in Leon, Iowa today which means we are getting closer to the border. Couldn't download pictures today since computers were too old that I had access to.

4th of July in Osceola

People have been spreading news of us I have been told. That's nice! We joined the end of a parade today. People are enjoying the books. Hopefully will be posting pictures soon.

Camping

Last night we found our first real campgrounds. Free camping. Sweet! Staying here for a day and another night so that Waji can have some fun and I can catch up on some sleep.

On the road again.

We are back on the road. Still facing stormy weather.
